Sidebar is a vertical column on the right or left side of your main content area. It usually contains various widgets.

Changing the position of sidebar.

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > General Settings
  2. Find the "Sidebar on" option and tick the "Left side" or "Right side". By default, the sidebar is located on the right side.
  3. Remember to save changes by clicking on the "Save & Publish" button.

Switching the sidebar on or off.

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > General Settings
  2. In order to switch it off only for the homepage, tick "Disable Sidebar on Homepage".
  3. If you want to switch off the sidebar on archive pages or on all single post pages, tick "Disable Sidebar on Archive" and "Disable Sidebar on all Single Posts" respectively.
  4. Remember to save changes by clicking on the "Save & Publish" button

If you want to switch off the sidebar only for several posts, and leave it for other, you can do it in post settings.

Adding widgets to sidebar.

In order to add, edit or remove a widget, go to WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets.

On the left side, you’ll see the list of available widgets, and on the right, the available "Widget Areas"

Esthetique Theme offers only one of those - sidebar.

Drag the widgets you wish to display to the sidebar area using the "Drag & Drop" method.

Click on the widget’s header to see the available options. After you’re done editing, remember to confirm the changes by clicking on the "Save" button.

You can also remove a widget by clicking on "Delete", which is located in the bottom left corner of the drop down menu.
